London Building Control Ltd have successfully completed the building control approvals on the new Santander Regional Head Office. The £6.4m project consisted an extension and refurbishment of the 14 storey (94,000 sq ft) ‘Terra Firma’ office development
As part of the design and build brief, the client required the large extension to form a staff breakout and dining area. This required extensive services design to satisfy the latest building control and energy efficiency regulations and requirements.
The new remodelled and extended feature reception and entrance area required structural design to allow removal of key elements of the existing reception base-build façade to introduce a dual height frontage. The building includes five levels of corporate financial offices, breakout, secure financial data systems and catering facilities. Below ground, there will be eight stories of car-parking, which required modernisation of essential sprinkler and other life safety services.
